UCP Wheels for Humanity has distributed 45,000 wheelchairs, mostly to disabled children, all across the developing world.We donated the chair that carried my father for the last five year of his life, and I followed it to the Wheels Warehouse in L.A. where it was rebuilt as good as new, and then to a wheelchair fitting clinic in Costa Rica where I got to meet the young man who received the chair, and lots of other beautiful kids who received something most of us take for granted - the simple gift of mobility.
